Ice Hockey: Jerk for Canada! United States U20 World Champion - Winter Games

It was set up by Canada to defend the title in their country – but the USA is throwing the plan along the way! With a 2–0 final win in Edmonton against the hosts, the United States brings a fifth U20 world title.

Alex Turcott took the lead after 13:25 minutes. Trevor Zegras sets the direction with 2–0 (21st) at the end.

There should be no more goals, as US keeper Spencer Knight hits all 34 shots on his target. Opposite Devon Levy has been dealt with only 21 shots, but this is enough for the US.

Zergus is voted MVP with seven goals and eleven assists in his second World Juniors. He also set the American record of Jordan Schroeder, who collected his 20 assists and 27 scoreless points in three tournaments.

Three final heroes were selected in the first round of the 2019 NHL Draft: the Los Angeles Kings in five to the Tercotte, the Anaheim Ducks to the nine from the Zegras and the Florida Panthers to the 13 from the Knight.

The best defender was Levi, Fin Topi Nemela’s best defender and German Tim Stutzle’s best attacker.

Bronze goes to Finland, who beat Russia 4–1 in the game for third place. This is the first bronze medal for “Suomi” since 2006, since then the Finns have either won gold (2014, 2016, 2019) or have dropped out. In the semi-finals, Finland only narrowly failed 3: 4 for the United States, while Russia had no chance in 0: 5 against Canada.
