Monobob:Kalki best German in sixth place

German women remain without a win in the new monobob discipline. Kim Kaliki (Wiesbaden) finished sixth at the Innsbruck-Eagles as the best starter in the BSD on Saturday, almost separating her from Australian winner Bianna Walker for the second time. Alana Meyers Taylor (USA) and Melissa Lotholz (Canada) complete the podium.

Mariya Jamanka (Oborhoff) is still a pushing woman without a hard time, finishing ninth as a two-time Olympic champion. Lisa Buckwitz (Königssee) completed her first monobob performance in tenth place. From the German team, Laura Nolte (Winterberg) is particularly confident with two places in two starts. The Junior World Champion and the European Champion in the Twos did not participate in the Eagles and instead prepared for the World Championships in Ellenberg (5 February to 14 February).

Since December, Monobobs have been racing regularly at the World Cup, with discipline not met with approval from all female athletes. Teams have to come to terms with this, though: the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has already included women’s monobobs in their schedule for the 2022 Winter Games in Beijing – and only for those who begin registration there Huh. . Medals are also being awarded at the World Championships in Altenberg.
