Ukraine asks Canada to provide audio file

Canada has secret records of Iranian foreign minister's talks about PS752

The Attorney General’s Office has requested Canada to provide an audio recording released by CBC News, a Canadian broadcaster that details the possible intentional destruction of International Ukrainian MAU Flight PS752, a Ukrainian passenger aircraft over Iran.

This was announced by Deputy Prosecutor General Gjunduz Mamedow, citing the Ukrinform report, the press service of the Prosecutor General’s office.

According to him, this is the fourth request from the Canadian side.

It was also clarified that on January 8, the Attorney General’s Office took criminal proceedings for willful murder, destroying someone else’s property and violating air traffic safety rules.

Canadian broadcaster CBC News reported that Canadian intelligence agencies had an audio call in which Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javed Sarif was likely to attend. The conversation is about the fact that the PS752 aircraft were shot intentionally.

On January 8, 2020, Ukrainian passenger aircraft near Tehran were shot down by surface-to-air missiles. All 176 prisoners were killed. Among the casualties were 11 Ukrainians (two passengers and new crew members), citizens of Iran, Canada, Sweden, Afghanistan and the UK.

On 11 January, Iran admitted (objections were raised within a few days) that the Ukrainian machine was accidentally shot down by two Iranian surface-to-air missiles.

On December 29, 2020, President Volodymyr Zalensky awarded the crew of Flight PS752 the “Heroes of Ukraine” and “Golden Star” medals.

Foreign Minister Dimitro Kuleba said on 5 January 2021 that Ukraine had received a draft technical report from Iran on the circumstances of the plane crash and should prepare its comments by the end of February.
