LONDON (AP) – Pop icon Elton John praised Canadian pop star Sean Mendes, who is nearly 50 years older than his junior for his down-to-earth attitude. “We are only human,” the 73-year-old Briton said for the 22-year-old Canadian in an interview for fashion magazine “VMAN”.

He thinks it is dangerous when people have become famous in a bubble. “I have seen this happen to so many people: that they get stuck in their roles and start believing that they are invincible.”
But this did not happen with Mandes, Britton says: “You are a big star, but you are very humble. Success has not gone to your mind.”
In January 2016, John brought the Canadian singer to the stage for a joint performance of John’s song “Tiny Dancer”. At the time, Mendes was already enjoying musical successes, most notably in the United States and Canada, and the summer hit “Sinorita” catapulted him to the top of the singles chart in 2019.
On Friday he released his song “Monster”, which he has sung with Justin Bieber. His fourth album, “Wonder”, is slated for release on 4 December.
