Global EPC company Warley has been awarded a contract for the first engineering phase of the first company. This is the first commercial use of the direct air collection technology of carbon engineering.

1 moneyfive Given the option of today Worli The US is known for its Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) phase of its first Direct Air Capture (DAC) system in the Permian Basin – DAC 1. The project will support 1PointFive’s mission to improve the climate through commercialization and use of business DAC Technology from Carbon Engineering To stabilize, which captures CO2 directly from the atmosphere. DAC1 is the first commercial use of this technology. This FEED agreement is the first step of an alliance between 1PointFive and Worley. The initial focus of this collaboration is on the Permian Clean Campus and targets DAC1 through DAC4.

Upon completion, the facility will be able to extract one million tons of atmospheric CO2 annually. This serves as a starting point to accelerate the deployment of commercial-scale DACs as critical infrastructure helping companies around the world meet their carbon emission reduction goals. The FEED phase for DAC 1 will focus on the first train, which will capture 500,000 tons of CO2 annually. The FEED phase is planned to begin within the next 90 days and is expected to be completed by the end of 2021. After the completion of FEED, the alliance will proceed to the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) phase.

“We partnered with Warley in this historic project because our organizations are similar in terms of sustainability,” said Richard Jackson, chairman of 1st TripFive. “Warley has a proven track record of true innovation and will be instrumental in bringing DAC to commercial scale. This unique facility is one of the biggest challenges of our time. Our combined knowledge and expertise will not only make the project a success but Also make real progress in creating a circular economy. ”

“Working with 1 Trip on this project is in line with our desire to create a fully sustainable world,” said Chris Ashton, CEO of Warley. “And his vision of a circular economy that includes direct air collection has the power to drive future sustainability at the crossroads of business, energy and the environment. Climate change is a major challenge we must face. But we are some of the brightest Will become. The minds of the world on this historical project. ”

At DAC 1’s FEED, Worley and 1PointFive will explore next-generation technologies, materials and manufacturing approaches that fit a circular economy – from recycled plastics to 3D printing to fully integrated zero-emission electricity. These innovations will contribute to the stability and capital efficiency of the systems as well as create data-driven optimization for continuous improvement of future DAC systems.
