Jury has been set for the German Book Award
Every year, seven literary experts work their way through a large mountain of books and eventually choose the best German-language novel. A feature of the German Book Prize: a seven-member jury is re-appointed each year. The academy Deutsche Bouchaperis has this jury Appointed: Not Kordsen (Culture Editor, Beyerischer Randfunk), Bettina Fischer (Head of Literathaus Köln), Anja Johansen (Head of Göttingen Literature Center), Richard Kremerlings (Literary Correspondent, Die Welt), Head of Féil (Head of Welt Zeitung) , Beat Shazer (bookseller, Proust word + tone) and Anne-Catherine Simon (editor, Die Presse).
As of March 26, 2021, publishers can present two German-language novels from the current or planned schedule. You can also recommend five other titles. Books must be published or displayed between October 1, 2020 and September 21, 2021. The long list will be announced on August 24 with 20 titles. Jury members will choose six titles for the shortlist, which will be published on 21 September. The book awards ceremony will take place at the beginning of the Frankfurt Book Fair on 18 October.
