In a word ... Juergen Boos in conversation with Jan Lisiecki

Jan Lisecki’s interpretation and technique testify to a maturity that goes far beyond his years. At the age of 25, the Canadian plays more than a hundred concerts every year on major stages in the world and has formed close relationships with conductors such as Sir Antonio Pappano, Yannick Nezet-Segin, Daniel Harding and Claire Alfado (†).

Following the success of Nachmusik, he will present a new solo show in 2019/20, as well as a Beethoven song cycle with Matthias Goern. He has been re-invited to perform with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, Philarmonica della Scala, Orchestra dell’Academia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and Orpheus Chamber Orchestra for concerts of Carnegie Hall and Albfilmonone. Jan Lisecki has performed with the New York Philharmonic, the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, the Statskapel Dresden, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and the London Symphony Orchestra.

At the age of 15, he signed an exclusive contract with Deutsche Gramophone. In his sixth album for the label, released in September 2019, he directed Piano to Fields in all five Beethoven concerts to St Martin’s Academy. With live recordings from Konzerthaus Berlin, the label Beethoven is launching its release to celebrate the year 2020. In March 2020, Deutsche Grammophon published a Beethoven song cycle, recorded with Baritone Matthias Goern. Previous recordings were awarded with the ECHO Classic and the Juno Award.

At the age of 18, Jane Lisecki was the youngest recipient of the Young Artist Award by Gramophone Magazine and the Leonard Bernstein Award. In 2012 UNICEF appointed him ambassador to Canada.
