Microsoft is once again hosting its annual developer conference Build 2021 as a fully digital event. Now the dates have been set: The developer conference is to be held from May 25 to May 27, with plans for an appointment on the original site after a week.
The first report can be read on Microsoft employee Donovan Brown (Partner Program Manager) on Twitter, as of the date (April 1), some readers felt the tweet was an April Fool’s joke. However, Microsoft’s General Events page now also lists dates. The main page of the build conference refers to the previous year’s version And not yet up to date, but some of the manufactured 2020 seasons are available as canned goods (on demand).
Create 2021 mite breakout-sessions
At the moment it is not known when interested parties can register for Build 2021. This time under the motto “What’s Next”, there is clearly a support program planned for the announcement of major innovations. It is not clear exactly whether the session has been declared as “what lies ahead for Windows” which is either for a boot for the conference or for the build. The plan is clearly sessions like “WhatsApp Next for Security”, “WhatsApp Next for Gaming” and “What’s Next for Cloud”. As the tech portal ZDNet quoted a Microsoft spokesperson, this time the focus should be on the Windows operating system, possibly with sessions on Windows 10X and Windows 10 21H2.
In the previous edition, the conference presented Project Reunion combining the two Windows APIs WinRT and Win32, and focused on Fluid Framework and Power Toys.
Instead of presence: long term or temporarily digital?
Organizing the event again digitally rather than face-to-face is in line with the announcement that Microsoft employees will return from home office to face-to-face office in September as soon as possible. Microsoft originally planned to return to office work for July 2020. The company has now adjusted the scheme in view of the state of the international epidemic. Internationally Microsoft has a six-stage plan for hybrid work from the company’s closure and mandatory homework to open office operations with more or less strict conditions. It has been known since last autumn that the company plans to optionally enable the majority of its employees to work from home even after the epidemic.
Since the organizers had already designed the build as a site, it could be assumed that Microsoft would offer its in-house conference again in the future in attendance.
