The worldwide DIRT 5 community today comes with a Red Bull Revolution update – available as a free update for all players to download. In addition to various Red Bull-themed items, community-requested features such as cross-platform matchmaking and ghost lap times have been added. A new trailer featuring the content can be seen here:
Eight Red Bull liveries were built for six vehicles: the Audi S1 EKS RX Quattro, the Mini John Cooper Work Buggy by X-RED, Peugeot 3008 DKR Maxi, Volkswagen Race Tuereg 3 and Peugeot 208 WRX. The iconic Red Bull Arc has also been added for DIRT 5’s Playground Mode, which invites players to create, share and explore their own arenas.
For the first time in the DIRT series, this update also introduced cross-platform matchmaking. Players searching in the open lobby on Xbox, PlayStation and PC platforms * can now compete against each other in traditional racing and party modes at the same time.
Wet and stormy weather conditions are provided in the playground – an additional level of customization when creating arenas. In addition, with Ghost Lap Timing, another feature requested by the community for Gate Crasher and Time Trial events has been integrated. Ghost Lap Bar is the ideal tool for climbing the leaderboard to brag about friends and the rest of the DIRT5 community.
“We’re excited to develop DIRT5 in a new and exciting way, especially by adding cross-platform matchmaking,” said KIRTMasters’ DIRT5 development director Robert Karp. “We have often asked ourselves which players are the heads at the fastest speed – now we finally have the answer!”
