Slovakia 3-7 Czech Republic – Both teams were selected for the quarter-finals before the encounter. It was all about placing them in Group A – and of course the prestige in the neighboring duel. The Czech team, which had a poor start to the World Cup, eventually celebrated an undisputed win at 7-3. This pushed them to third in the group, overtaking the Slovakians.

Canada – Finland 2: 3 NP – In Group B, an exciting final bounce of the preliminary round is about to begin. The Canadians had to bow to Finland 2: 3 after a penalty shootout in the afternoon, which meanwhile took them to third place. However, the quarter-final qualification of “Maple Leaves” is yet to be decided. If the match between Germany and Latvia is tied after 60 minutes in the evening, then Canada will have to be content with a thankless 5th place. Italy – USA 2: 4 – In the last World Cup match, Italy’s weak team did not get any chance. Despite a respectable performance, the team lost 4–2 to the USA. The Italians are the only team to end the World Cup without points. On the other hand, the United States goes to the quarter-finals as the group winner and meets Slovakia there.
