Passenger attacked flight crew on way to Atlanta

A plane belonging to the American airline Delta had to make an emergency landing – the reason was an aggressive passenger. It apparently attacked and threatened the crew members.

An adamant passenger forced Delta Airline to land prematurely. The incident happened on Friday (local time) on the way from Los Angeles atlanta. CNN, citing police in Oklahoma City, reported that the man was overwhelmed after crew members and passengers attacked two flight attendants and threatened to crash the plane.

An airline spokesman said on request Saturday that the “controversy” occurred in the front of the plane. He thanked the crew members and passengers who helped detain the man on his way to Oklahoma City, where the plane landed without any problems. The man was arrested.

In May, an incident aboard a Southwest Airlines plane made headlines. On the way from Sacramento to San Diego, a passenger hit a flight attendant. The employee lost two teeth. As a result, American and Southwest Airlines announced that they would no longer offer alcohol to passengers with cheap tickets as planned.

A few months ago, the head of the FAA, Steve Dixon, complained of an “alarming increase” in incidents in which passengers disrupted flights with “threatening or violent behavior”. A spokesman said on request Saturday that the FAA had received nearly 2,900 reports of unruly behavior from passengers since the beginning of the year.
