In Canada, weeks after the remains of 215 children were found at a former Catholic boarding school for Native American children, two Catholic churches burned down.
Police classified the circumstances of the fire at Kamloops as “suspicious”. Between one and three in the morning, both the churches were engulfed in flames. A spokesman for the fire department told broadcaster CBC that preliminary investigations indicate the use of liquid fire accelerators in at least one case.
A few weeks ago, the remains of 215 children were found at the site of a former Catholic children’s home in Kamloops, British Columbia. This discovery shook the whole country. In Canada by 1874, approximately 150,000 Native American and mixed couple children had been separated from their families and cultures and placed in church homes. Its purpose was to force children to adapt to white majority society. Many of them were abused or sexually abused in homes. According to previous information, at least 3,200 of these children died, most of them from tuberculosis.
