Three Germans are allowed to play in the second-highest class at Wimbledon today – others still have to complete or finish their games that were canceled the day before. Two successive Wimbledon winners then intervene.
LONDON – Rain or shine: Court No. 1 becomes the Germans’ place on the second day of Wimbledon. From 2 pm onwards, Alexander Zverev, Angelique Kerber and Jan-Lenard Struff will play their first matches there. If the tennis weather is bad, the roof is closed.
Old Swiss champion Roger Federer’s first appearance against Frenchman Adrian Mannarino is also eagerly awaited. Like Federer, the 39-year-old longtime world number one Serena Williams of the United States will again meet Alexandra Sasnovitch of Belarus on center court.
