First place opened in Canada

In March we reported that CD Projekt Red had bought Canadian studio Digital Scapes after three years of successful collaboration. The branch has now been renamed “CD Project Red Vancouver” and has been reopened. The video game developer announced it on Twitter today.

Involved in various projects in future

Together with the development teams in Wroclaw and Krakow, the new studio will work on future projects for the company. The head of the studio is still Marcin Chudi, who has Polish roots. He sees the acquisition as a great opportunity for developers to work on CD Projekt Red’s successful game brands. The Polish company, in turn, benefits from the many talented developers working in Canada.

This year you can expect a next-generation version of “Cyberpunk 2077” from CD Projekt RED. In addition, “The Witcher: Monster Slayer” is a mobile game very reminiscent of “Pokémon Go” and is set to appear this month. Coincidentally, WitcherCon starts tomorrow, where you’ll learn, among other things, news about the second series.

To learn from the mistakes of the past, the company will adopt a different corporate strategy in the future. New games are to be revealed later by shortening the marketing steps. In addition, working conditions have to be improved and several AAA productions have to be worked on simultaneously.

In financial terms, CD Projekt Red’s management level is nothing to complain about. Record revenues were achieved in the fiscal year 2020, which can be attributed to the resounding success of “Cyberpunk 2077”.
