Additional demand?: Apple clearly wants to significantly increase iPhone production in 2021 – the share is clearly in Plus. message

The company has asked its suppliers to make 90 million next-generation iPhones this year, Bloomberg news agency reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The Cupertino, Calif.-based technology conglomerate has maintained a consistent level of about 75 million units over the years from its launch to the end of the year. The increased forecast for 2021 may indicate that the iPhone maker expects additional demand when the new iPhone is introduced due to progressive vaccination against COVID-19.

The upcoming iPhone generation should be Apple’s second with 5G technology — a significant incentive to encourage users to upgrade. This year’s update will offer more than the iPhone 12, with a focus on improvements to the processor, camera, and display, it said from circles. All existing models are to be refreshed. The new smartphones are to be announced in September this year. In 2020, Apple did not introduce new models until October due to problems with the supply chain.

Apple’s shares closed 2.41 percent higher at $149.15 in Nasdaq trading.
