A surveillance camera shows a dangerous situation involving little Lily Kwan and her dog. A ten-year-old Yorkshire Terrier blows when he is suddenly being chased by a coyote. The wild animal is aggressive, apparently in search of food. In Toronto, Canada, where Lily Kwan lives with her family, posters and social media have been warning about coyotes for days.

Then while walking the coyote attacks the girl. Her little dog Macy defends the ten-year-old girl with all her might – Lily is able to escape.
A Yorkshire Terrier usually weighs up to three kilograms, and a coyote often weighs more than ten kilograms. So Maisie encounters an animal that is too big and heavy.
Her owner Lily said in an interview: “I ran to the sidewalk and screamed for help, but no one listened to me. I saw the coyote, it tried to attack me and my dog. I ran, bell rang and knocked on the door. Luckily a neighbor let me in.”

Lily is proud of her dog: “Macy’s is a super brave dog. I love her so much.”
A Yorkshire Terrier will need surgery after an attack and recovering from a coyote bite. But the vet gives hope that the little four-legged friend will make a quick recovery. Lily’s mother is also infinitely grateful to Macy: “She’s our little heroine,” said Dorothy Kwan.
