MTU now has more space in Canada

MTU Maintenance Canada has completed the move from Richmond near Vancouver Airport to Boundary Bay in the Delta of British Columbia. With this redesign from a former helicopter maintenance company, MTU Maintenance Canada will have about 60 percent more space available in the future. Thus all repair activities are combined in one place.

Over the past two years, MTU Maintenance Canada has expanded its portfolio to include programs for the V2500 and CF6-80C2 engine types. In addition, the site was also able to secure military variants of these engines, the US Air Force’s F108 and F138 contracts. “The additional space enables us to successfully implement these programs and gives us the flexibility we need to offer our customers tailor-made maintenance, repair and overhaul services for their engines,” said Head of MTU Maintenance Canada Uwe Zachau says.

Over the past year and a half, MTU Maintenance Canada has been able to move plants, equipment and team assignments to a new location in a flexible, step-by-step manner, while maintaining operations at the same time. In addition, additional space was used at both the locations to better protect the employees during the pandemic.

MTU Maintenance Canada is the North American branch in the German MTU Maintenance Network. The company specializes in the maintenance, repair and overhaul of engines and attachments, and also conducts engine testing. MTU’s Canadian subsidiary holds licenses for the maintenance of the CF6, CFM56 and V2500 engine series.

The new Delta location covers an area of ​​22,000 square meters and is approximately thirty minutes from Vancouver Airport, where testing will continue in existing test rooms. In addition to the repair of engines and attachments, MTU Maintenance Canada also provides Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) management services to its customers, who are playing an increasingly important role in its service portfolio.
