Vodafone sharply criticized Deutsche Telekom

As a former state-owned company, Deutsche Telekom must activate connections for its competitors’ customers. But it doesn’t seem to be running smoothly. Vodafone is now making serious allegations.

Serious allegations by Vodafone against Deutsche Telekom: The telecom company accused its rival of causing harm to Vodafone customers. Andreas Lockenmann, Head of Private Customers at Vodafone, Welt am Sonntag, said, “It still happens too often that our customers wait too long or in vain for telecom technicians to activate new Internet connections, while telecom customers gets help more quickly.” (“Jerkin”).

The background is: Telecom’s competitors rent the company’s lines because Telekom had a monopoly for a long time. However, for connection, customers of telecom competitors depend on telecom service employees. But the allocation of appointments does not seem to be going smoothly.

Deutsche Telekom denies the allegations

Now Vodafone has turned to federal and state politicians, the report said. The company clearly wants to increase pressure on the Federal Network Agency to create clear guidelines, “WAMS” writes.

Too few employees and unsuitable I.T system There will be delays in releasing Vodafone connections beyond the contractually stipulated period, sometimes up to several weeks, they say. “The affected customers then canceled the Vodafone connections they had already ordered and the connections were given to them by the telcos shortly after,” the paper quoted the letter as saying.

Telecom has denied the allegations. “We treat all customers equally”, quoted company spokesperson “WAMS”. Vodafone can view and book required appointments through a single interface. But Vodafone has not yet created the necessary technical prerequisites for the group to be able to fully use the interface.
