What an incredible victory in the World Cup quarterfinal against Russia! A 0-2 loss followed by extra time followed by a 3-2 victory – a coup that is second to none. Now the Swiss wanted to hit the next big hit in the semi-finals of the Hockey World Cup in Calgary (CA). But the odds are a bit bigger: 0:4 against Canada.
The big favorite and the host is huge size for the Swiss national team. However, in the end, satisfaction may still remain. Ice Comrade gets the best result against Canada in the World Cup. Goalkeeper Andrea Brandly has a bear share of “only” four goals conceded. The Swiss Guardian repeated at least 62 shots! Particularly curious: 3-0 via Melody Doust, when the puck flies into goal over Brandley’s head (see video above).
Canada is very strong – the big favorite for the World Cup. The country has been in the final every time since 1990, with one exception (2019). She has won gold in the World Cup ten times. The eleventh is against the USA on Tuesday evening.
Swiss women also have a historic chance of winning a bronze medal at the World Cup this evening. The game for the third place against Finland will start at 9.30 pm. The Scandinavians lost 3–0 against the United States. (EUC/Singh)
