The Italian company XEV has developed a small, affordable electric car specifically for the city. The first copies of the Yoyo model are currently being produced in Shanghai, China, with mass production scheduled to begin later near Beijing, reports auto motor and sport. XEV also sells its class L7e light electric vehicle in Europe.
One of the specialties of Yoyo is that many components are manufactured using 3D printing. This should make it possible for customers to individually design certain elements of the body and interior, for example with wide door panels. The simple interior has room for two people. Information about the vehicle is displayed on a monitor mounted in the center of the dashboard. The basic configuration is a classic screen, the higher configuration a touchscreen. There is a smartphone holder next to it. The trunk has a capacity of 180 liters and, according to the XEV, can accommodate three straight cabin trolleys next to each other. The maximum payload is 400 kg.
The Yoyo is powered by three series-connected lithium iron phosphate batteries that are accessible through a separate tailgate. Their total capacity is 10.3 kWh. Each battery block can be removed individually; A strap is attached to the surface for easy transport of the energy storage device, which weighs about 24 kg. To charge the batteries, XEV wants to set up its own charging machine, where empty batteries can be exchanged for new ones. XEV also offers manual battery replacement service when the driver is not on the vehicle. Charging via the plug is possible through a home connection or at a quick charging station.
Equipment of the Yoyo at 2530 millimeters long, 1500 millimeters wide and 1560 millimeters high includes ABS, disc brakes, air conditioning and heating, LED headlights, two loudspeakers, three USB ports, electric windows and electrically adjustable exterior mirrors as well as a panoramic The roof is also included. . The electric motor has a permanent output of 7.5 kW (10 hp) and, at its peak, up to 15 kW (20 hp) for a short period of time. The maximum speed is 80 km / h. The range is given by the XEV at 150 kms as per the WLTP standard.
The deliveries of the XEV Yoyo are set to begin in Germany in October, with prices starting at €13,000. Vehicle class L7e is not currently eligible, but that may change soon.
