Gloria von Thurn und Taxi says goodbye to her mother with moving words. The 91-year-old collapsed badly. During subsequent treatment, potency failed. But the family still had time to say goodbye.

Gloria Fürstin von Thurn und Taxi mourns her mother. Beatrix Countess von Schönberg-Glauchau has died at the age of 91 at a clinic in Regensburg, the family announced in the evening. “God gave us a few more wonderful days with him, during which most of his family and friends could say goodbye to him,” the 61-year-old said on behalf of his brothers Alexander and Karl-Alban.

A prayer meeting for the deceased is to be held in Munich’s Kreuzkirche on 6 November. Then the funeral is planned in the nearest family circle.

Beatrix von Schönberg-Glauchau was born in Hungary in 1930 and was the great-granddaughter of politician and social reformer Count István von Szczeciny. In 1956 she fled the Communists to Germany and a year later married journalist Joachim Graf Schönberg-Glauchau.

thank you doctors

Gloria von Thurn und Taxis received words on the go: “My mother was the head and center of the family. Her loss is shocking to all of us”. The 91-year-old collapsed at home and was then operated upon at a clinic in Munich. But because she remained weak, she was then taken to the Regensburg clinic. The 61-year-old praised, “The doctors and especially the nursing staff at Merciful Brothers have taken care of her in an exemplary and loving manner.”

Gloria and her mother had a close bond and shared their enthusiasm for the stage, among other things. For example, in the summer of 2007, they appeared together in guest roles at the opening of the Regensburg Castle Festival.

Gloria von Thurn und Taxi lost her father Joachim Graf von Schönberg-Glauchau in 1998 to her husband Johannes von Thurn und Taxi in 1990. His elder sister Maya passed away in 2019 at the age of 60.
