The United States will open borders with Canada and Mexico to people who are vaccinated from November

The US has announced that it will allow travelers from neighboring Canada and Mexico to cross the border again from November.

However, this only applies to those who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Due to the spread of the coronavirus, the borders were closed 19 months ago, and entry has been possible only for a valid reason or for business purposes.

US officials are still awaiting notification from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) on travelers receiving cross-vaccination or vaccines from AstraZeneca. The US does not allow vaccine doses or AstraZeneca vaccine mixes for its own residents.

In the future, a full COVID vaccination will also be required for trucking workers who have to cross the United States border to do their jobs.

Current rules prohibit the entry of most non-US citizens who have been in the UK and several other European countries, China, India, South Africa, Iran and Brazil in the past 14 days.

As per the rules that came into effect from November, foreign travelers must provide proof of vaccination before flight, submit a negative COVID-19 test within three days of travel and provide their contact information. Quarantine will not be needed.

Officially, it is said that there will be some exceptions to the new rule, including for children who are not allowed to be vaccinated.

Even with the rules in Europe, it was initially unclear whether the new rules only applied to vaccines approved in the United States and how people vaccinated with AstraZeneca would be dealt with.
