Youtube hides the number of “I don’t like” clicks

If users want to make it clear that they don’t like a video, they will still be able to click with their thumb pointing down. However, the number of these clicks is no longer displayed. The user who uploaded the video will still have access to this data.

With this measure, Youtube seeks to promote “respectful conversation” between video creators and other users. Users should feel “safe” about expressing themselves on YouTube.

The online platform had already experimented with hiding the number of so-called dislikes. Since May, users of online platforms Facebook and Instagram have been able to hide the number of negative reviews under their posts.
