Forza Horizon 5: December update makes racing simulation "unworthy"

From Alexander Neu ,
Forza Horizon 5 clearly has a flat tyre: There are currently increasing voices within the community that the open-world racing simulation has become impossible since the December update went into effect. Freezes and crashes occur especially on Xbox Series X/S, but crashes on desktop and other problems on PC have also been reported.

Forza Horizon 5 could have a good start in November. But the open-world racing game has had and still has a bad tire from a technical point of view — and since the update was implemented on December 3, it’s clearly a flat tire as well. There are currently increasing voices within the community that Forza Horizon 5 has become impossible. The tweet from user Don Jovon Song, who garnered more community awareness with vehicle tuning and skill videos for Forza, garnered the most attention.

In one message, Jowon Song found the simulation unusable and “more than broken”; He was eventually about to turn his back on the twelfth main part of the Forza series. In particular, they complained of occasional crashes when charging for the first time, random freezes while driving, and it took quite a long time to charge, generally up to five minutes. Twitter user NoVa . show in a video, Another shot captured the previously critical disappearance of player Bolides in multiplayer mode.

Forza Horizon 5 with 27 FPS on PC

The update seems to be causing most of the problems on Xbox series consoles as well. Related reddit threads can be found. Developer Playground Games specifically deals with an infinite save loop, with a “as soon as it ends” fix will be implemented. But the PC version also seems to have been affected by the improvements. According to player feedback, under Windows the frame rate drops below 30 fps and the desktop crashes frequently.

On Twitter and in the official Forza forum, Playground Games stated only that they were aware of a problem with an infinite memory loop on the Xbox series after purchasing a car or finalizing tuning. So it is not clear how long by when many other problems will be resolved.
