Today, Sunday, 26 December, things will get serious for the German U20 national team! At the 2022 World Cup in Canada, the team of national coach Tobias Abstrater will take on Finland in their first group game. The game begins at 8 p.m. at Rogers Place in Edmonton.

The U20 World Cup 2022 will run till 5 January 2022. In the preliminary round, ten participants are divided into two groups of five teams each. The teams ranked one through four in each group advance to the final round. The two fifths determine in relegation according to the “best-of-three” mode, which is relegation to Group A of Division I.

Other groups of DEB youth are the hostile Czech Republic, host Canada and Austria. This year there will be all group matches.

“We have built a good team. A third of the team is already able to take their experience from the last World Cup with them, which will be very important for us,” national coach Abstrater said in the run-up to the World Cup.
