Even without the stars of the NHL, the North American professional ice hockey league, both teams brought a lot of quality to the ice.

Canada had already proved that with a 5–1 victory in their opening game against the German team. That you have to put it on the list. The United States also registered an impressive 8-0 win over the hosts from China.,

Canada is in the lead early – USA counters straight

Canada got off to a good start. After just two minutes, Matt Robinson scored from a tight angle to the Maple leaves to make it 1-0. American keeper Strauss Mann was not looking good to lose a goal.

But the happiness of the Canadian team was short-lived. Andy Mille (third) equalized for USA exactly a minute later.

This was followed by a highly-rated game with opportunities for both teams. Shortly before the end of the first period, the Americans took a 2–1 lead through Ben Myers after strong preparation work from Sean Farrell (19th).

Both the teams had a blast

Brendan Bryson extended the lead to 3:1 in the second period after a pass from Nick Shore (23rd). Earlier, Canadian goalkeeper Eddie Pasqual lost the puck on trip outside his goal.

Maple leaves did not open and would become smaller if there were more numbers. Corban Knight scored after an early act from Daniil Vinnik (35th).

Good Opportunities for More Goals

The game in the last 20 minutes was extremely enjoyable and there were many chances for both the sides. In the 47th minute, Ken Agostino gave the American team another two-goal lead. Again, Canadian goalkeeper Pasquale looked poor, allowing a hard but spotless shot to slip through his mitts.

After that, both teams still had good opportunities to score more goals, but either missed them casually or this time failed because of a strong goal. In the end, the Americans won 4–2 in a prestige duel with their northern neighbors.
