Ragetley & Co. No Slopestyle Medal

The slopestyle final was a disappointment for the Swiss freestylers. Andrey Ragetli, best of qualification, and Fabian Bosch miss out on the medal. Kim Gubsar conceded defeat.

There was not much to remember for Andrey Ragetli’s first Olympic medal. In the end, the 23-year-old Swede of Flims was 1.85 points behind Jesper Tjader, who had won the bronze medal, leaving Grissons with a thankless fourth place.

Andrey Ragetelli is terribly disappointed after an unfortunate fourth place.

Ragetley made two good runs, but was again unable to improve further than qualification. In the first part he did not manage the rail section as much as he would have liked; in the second, his best, he had trouble with the grave on the second jump, which ultimately cost him a medal. On the third attempt, when he had to risk everything, Ragetli failed in the first jump, which shattered the precious metal dream.

Bosch showed a good first run, which – similar to qualifying – was rated relatively low and earned him “only” 78.05 points. Engelberg’s 24-year-old could not make amends after that as he had already made a mistake in the rail section. In qualifying, number eight Kim Gubsar missed the final due to a hamstring injury.
