Mickey Krause: Second Cancer Surgery

This was the moment that changed everything.

Two months earlier, Mallorca star Mickey Cross (51, “Shatzi, give me a photo”) was diagnosed with bladder cancer while filming the Vox show “Showtime of My Life – Stars Against Cancer”.

But unfortunately the singer was lucky, the tumor could be removed in time. In an interview with RTL, Mickey Krause now gave a health update and also revealed how he survived the second operation.

In February, the audience favorite told BILD that during the first operation, both the tumor in question and several small tumors on the bladder were removed over a large area. Krause said at the time: “In two weeks I will have another affection at the Charité, and we will check again whether everything is over.”

It’s time to breathe a sigh of relief as no tumor was found during the operation on February 22. “The boys did a great job, the tumor was removed successfully,” says Mickey Krause. “I’m great.”

The singer is currently recovering in the North Sea and has even taken to jogging there. Cross: “It was a blessing to me and did me great!”

No Time Out Despite Shock Diagnosis

The hit star will be back on stage soon. “I look forward to the next appointments. I don’t let myself take breaks.”

It’s important for him not to suddenly be considered a “mood singer with cancer” after a diagnosis, according to the 51-year-old, who has already been booked for more than 40 appearances. Still, he’d like to shift down a gear: “I’ll no longer be on stage 252 times a year.”

Krause’s wife Ute and their four daughters would certainly be happy with it. In a BILD interview, the singer said about the tough times about a month ago: “My family was with me. My four kids and my wife, with whom I’ve been together since 1991.” His family is his anchor.

What will happen next?

In April, the singer begins the so-called immunotherapy.

“It’s not as serious as chemotherapy,” Krause explains. “This therapy lasts once a week for six weeks. But I can do this with my urologist in this area. This is my therapy for next time. The therapy simulates inflammation in the bladder and thus local Activates the immune cells, which then attack the tumor and ensure that the cancer does not have a chance to dock again. But the cancer will now accompany me for the rest of my life.”
