Graubünden’s Luka Tavasi missed the semi-finals in the Paralympic skating sprint.

Tavassi qualified in the standings at 16th position. With a time of 3:00.73 minutes, he was almost four seconds short of reaching the semi-finals. “It really wasn’t there anymore,” said the 28-year-old. “On Monday, I was able to implement the previously discussed strategy one by one. I don’t know where I could have found the missing seconds.”

Skating is only my second favorite discipline

Trainer Sandra Gradig was also satisfied with the Graubünden player’s performance. “He ran a really good qualifying and did what you can on race day.” Unlike other Paralympic participants, Tavasi is not a full-fledged professional. In addition, the classic technique suits him a little better than skating.

With regard to Saturday’s final race of more than 12.5 km, Tawski was respectful: “There are many strong runners at the beginning, including those competing in biathlon. And the length is almost the same as in biathlon.” But he will prepare tactfully and well in terms of material and give everything.

China and Canada with Double Gold

Benjamin DeWitt of France won the gold medal in the Tawasi category. The winners of the other categories are: Natalie Wilkie (Canada, women standing), Zheng Peng (China, men seated), Yang Hongqiong (China, women seated), Brian McKeever (Canada, visually impaired men) and Carina Adlinger (Austria visually impaired). ).
