The Women’s Volleyball World Championship will take place in the Netherlands and Poland from 23 September to 15 October 2022. The German team also qualified, with new national coach Vital Heinen. The draw in Switzerland resulted in a challenging draw for the German team: in Group C the opponents in the preliminary round are the Olympic champions of the United States, the bronze medalists from Serbia, Bulgaria, Canada and Kazakhstan.
National coach Vital Heinen: “Ours is the strongest in the World Cup Group C tournament, with five very good teams and two absolutely world class teams with Serbia and the USA playing for group wins. Canada, Bulgaria and Germany to progress There will be three teams battling. Canada and Bulgaria especially have stepped up in recent years and are difficult to play.” DVV Sports Director Christian Dunnes says: “It’s a very difficult group with the current Olympic and World champions in particular. The duel against Bulgaria in particular was a tough fight in the last European Championship and we also fought against Canada in the Nations League . Our goal should be to get out of the group.”
Vital Heinen acknowledges the still difficult group: “In my first year it will be important to see where we stand in comparison to world leaders. We accept the challenges.” Christian Dunnes confirms: “We also have a very good team and we will work hard on ourselves over the summer, always with a big goal in mind. We and the team do everything we can to prepare well for the World Cup.” Will try my best.”
Vital Henen is particularly keen on a Group C venue. After starting in Arnhem (Netherlands), the next group game will take place in ód (Poland). “A very beautiful city and place. I look forward to a great fan atmosphere there. Then we can and must surpass ourselves to survive in the group. But that’s volleyball and that’s the great thing about our sport. For this we will work as a team throughout the summer.”
Germany qualified through world ranking
After placing 11th in the 2021 European Championships and 11th in the world rankings, the German team is one of the top 24 teams in the Netherlands and Poland starting at the 2022 World Cup. This is Germany’s 14th consecutive appearance in the final. He finished 11th in the last World Cup held in 2018.
