TKH's Glenn Trebbing wins two silvers and a bronze in the DTB Cup

Glenn Trebbing puts it very bluntly: “It was the best competition of my life, I didn’t expect it.” Bronze all-around with the team, silver on the bar and mixed silver in the DTB Cup again. It’s been a really excellent weekend in Stuttgart from TK Hannover to Glen Trebbing. The 22-year-old also won the all-around against all international competitors with a score of 81.150 – although there was no medal for it. “The sports soldier outperformed 53 opponents,” Trebbing said, “and that’s one point better than my previous record, and clearly more.”

The German men scored 241,800 points at the start of the Team Challenge and finished third. Only on the high bar did the team of national coach Valery Belenki, which received a new contract until 2024, overtake the British. And Trebbing (13,300 points) as fifth in this discipline played a big part in that. Because teammate Carlo Hore was 1.5 tenths better on the horizontal bar, Trebbing did not qualify for the finals on this instrument due to “one nation rule”. On the other hand, the man from the south of town made the top six on the pommel horse (13.650) and parallel bars (14.100).

The United States dominated the team as well as the individual equipment. Khoi Young (15.000) won the pommel horse, Trebbing was fifth with 13.333 points. But the TKH athlete really changed things up on the parallel bars. A grade of 14.533 was a personal best, and the man from the south of town almost won. “He was really good,” Trebbing said. Only Spaniard Nicolau Meir (14.600) was slightly better. An instrument final also went to the DTB, won at the Stuttgarter Hore high bar.

In the new mixed competition, the hosts finally won the silver medal. The team was made up of active spokesmen Sarah Voss (Cologne), Lee Quass (Chemnitz-Altendorf) as well as Trebbing and Dario Sisakis (Berlin), who lost in the gold final with 50.450 points to the United States mixed team. 57.950 marks. “We only expected third place, so we can be pretty satisfied with the mixed as well, it was fun,” Trebbing confirmed, later asking the team to take a selfie and take the picture. Italy (53.250) won the bronze final, fourth was Canada (53.050).

Trebbing, beginning with Voss, was in the second German “Shift” in front of a 2000 audience. He did vault, horse, floor and parallel bars, where he confirmed his silver routine on parallel bars from day one and again contributed 14,250 points to the overall result.

A total of eleven exercises were performed by the Hannover athlete Trebbing in this exhausting weekend. “Not perfect, but I haven’t collapsed. It’s great.” With training now on the agenda until May, the former Kessler’s focus is on the German championship. Trebbing decided not to go to the World Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan next weekend: “It will take a lot of training time. And I want to improve my performance further.”
