Elon Musk questions the existence of Twitter

As Elon Musk sat on Twitter’s board of directors, the Tesla boss criticized the passivity of some celebrities on the platform. He also begs the question: “Is Twitter dying?”
After joining Twitter, Tesla’s founder Elon Musk created a stir again with a provocative tweet. “Is Twitter Dying?” Tweeted by Musk, who recently became Twitter’s largest shareholder and sits on the company’s board of directors. To justify this, he mentioned users like pop singer Justin Bieber, who has many followers but rarely tweets.
Musk added the number of Twitter users with the most followers to his tweet. Former US President Barack Obama ranks first with 131 million followers, followed by pop stars like Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Rihanna. “Most of these ‘top’ accounts rarely tweet and post very little content,” Musk said. Pop singer Taylor Swift hasn’t posted anything on Twitter for three months, the founder of electric car maker Tesla and aerospace company SpaceX wrote. Justin Bieber tweets only once a year.
It was announced last Monday that Musk has bought about 73.5 million shares from Twitter. With a shareholding of 9.2 percent, the world’s richest person is the largest shareholder of Twitter. On Tuesday, Twitter announced that Musk would also join the company’s board of directors.
Musk, himself a fan of the online service with more than 80 million followers, has long been known as a critic of Twitter. The multi-billionaire has repeatedly accused the company of restricting freedom of expression. That’s why analysts expected Musk to take an active role in the company soon after buying Twitter shares.
