Former US President Donald Trump was banned from Twitter in January 2021 after the storm that hit the US Capitol. Now Elon Musk is probably taking the stage – and announcing that Trump will return.

Ix President Donald Trump may be expected to return to Twitter in time for the 2024 White House race. Tech billionaire Elon Musk, who is in the process of taking over Twitter, will let Trump back on stage. The decision to ban Trump was “morally wrong and just plain stupid,” Musk said in a video interview at a Financial Times event on Tuesday.

Trump was banned from Twitter after expressing sympathy to his supporters who stormed the Capitol in Washington on January 6, 2021. In past weeks, Trump has fueled sentiments with baseless claims that the election victory against Joe Biden was stolen through fraud.

Trump recently said he doesn’t want to go back to Twitter, even if he could. The boss of electric car maker Tesla agreed a deal worth about $44 billion with Twitter’s board of directors, but is still up to enough shareholders to want to hand over their shares to him. Twitter and Musk aim to complete the acquisition by the end of the year.
