05/16/2022 | (rsn) – On the final day of the Nations Cup in Milton/Canada, the German track aces went empty-handed in the battle for medals. Nevertheless, national coach Jan van Eijden was not only very satisfied with the total of ten medals.

“We grew together as a team, symbiosis with the endurance section and sprint worked out very well,” van Eijden said. On the final day, Tim Torn Teutenberg, who came fourth in the Omnium and only barely missed the podium, ensured the top spot just behind the medal ranks. His sister Lee Lynn Teutenberg finished fifth at Women’s Madison with Lena-Charlotte Reisner.

In the women’s keirin competition, world champion Lee Sophie Frederick crossed the finish line in third place, but was later pushed to sixth as she left the sprint corridor. Emma Heinz missed out on a place in the final and finished seventh.

“Emma had a great lead and did very well in the semi-finals. One time she was very hesitant and missed the grand final. Lee made three great runs, but then unfortunately made a driving mistake in the final. Keys got away. We mainly tried to work with strategy today and were able to implement some things well,” Van Eijden commented on the performance of his two drivers.

In the men’s sprint, the only German starter, Stefan Böticher, was eliminated in the final sixteenth. He made a tactical mistake and it won him the victory. He was out with it,” said Eijden. Mark Jurczyk had previously fallen in the sprint tournament and no longer competes in the Keirin.
