Google is threatening to remove Android file manager “Total Commander” from its Play Store. The reason is mentioned by Google that you can install APK using “Total Commander”. The sole purpose of removing this feature is to prevent any removal from the Play Store.
Developer Christian Ghisler as of now sent, he was contacted by Google and has since received two warnings. According to Google, “Total Commander” violates Play Store guidelines.

The Play Store policy says: “App downloaded from Play Store cannot modify, replace or update itself without using the update mechanism of Play Store,
Since Ghisler was unable to contact an actual Google employee and repeatedly received standard answers, he has now turned off the critical feature. However, this only applies to the version of “Total Commander” that can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. App versions of an independent store continue to use the full functionality.
