Activists have taken over a villa on Lake Attersee in Austria. It is said to belong to a Russian noble family – even though nothing is officially known about it.
Activists have seized a sea villa in Austria over alleged links to a Russian oligarch. The group called for the seizure of property in the Unterbergau am Atersei near Salzburg. They hung banners with slogans such as “anarchos instead of oligarchos” on the scaffolding. According to activists, forty people were involved in the action, according to the police there were only ten. A police spokesman for the German Press Agency said officers were in contact with them at the site.
According to the Austrian Land Register and a register of the Ministry of Finance, the villa is not owned by the elite, which is subject to EU sanctions. It therefore belongs to a company that is attributed to a family member of an elite class.
The Directorate of State Security and Intelligence, which is responsible for the allocation of elite assets in Austria, has reported that it often encounters fraudulent structures that conceal the true ownership structure.
