But what austerity efforts is the federal government itself making?

The BILD Anti-Expenditure Council has asked all ministries whether heating and air conditioning are switched off and whether lights are turned off at night.

Example air conditioning:

The staff of Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht (57, SPD) enjoy the most comfort: in the summer, the ministry is cooled to a pleasant 22 degrees.

On the other hand, Family Minister Lisa Pause (53, Greens) has turned up the air conditioning to 23 degrees. Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock (41, Greens) treats her employees indoors at a maximum of 24 degrees Celsius, when the outside temperature is 30 degrees.

Economics Minister Robert Habeck (52, Greens) makes officials sweat the most: 26 degrees max.

Example heating:

For the winter, some ministries (internal, education) are “investigating” whether a back burner is possible.

Development Minister Svenja Schultz (53, SPD) is one step ahead: from autumn, the office for her staff will have a maximum of 20 degrees. In comparison, Foreign Minister Baerbock is comfortably hot: his ministry can be heated to 23 degrees.

There is absolutely no heating limit for the employees of Family Minister Pos.
