Black Wings kicks Canadian defender out of KHL! - Hockey-News.info

Less than 125 appearances for Nashville and Montreal in the National Hockey League are anchored in the course life of the 183-centimeter-long and 98-kilogram powerhouse. In a total of five seasons, the 34-year-old defended against the best strikers in the ice hockey world and never shied away from a duel. In 2014/15, the defender was allowed to dream of a truly big coup and taste the air in the Stanley Cup playoffs, making four appearances with the Predators.

In addition to his appearances against Sidney Crosby, Alexander Ovechkin & Co., Bartley also made a name for himself as a defense sheriff in several other top leagues. After five seasons in the AHL and a year with rebro in the Swedish SHL, the call came from the multinational Continental Hockey League, where Bartley recently spent three seasons with the Kunlun Red Stars.

The Chinese-born Canadian celebrated the big highlight of his career so far on the international stage. In 2018, Bartley won the traditional Spengler Cup with Team Canada. In four matches, the defender recorded one goal and one assist.

When he moves to the Steinbach Black Wings, a familiar face now awaits the Neo-Steel Townsman. The left-handed shooter completed parts of hockey training in his native Canada with Captain Brian Lebler.

Voices:

Head Coach and Sports Director Philip Lucas: “Victor has played at a very high level throughout his career. With his experience and routine, he will definitely be able to play a vital role in our team. They can also be used in special teams. I look forward to working together.”

Victor Bartley: “The whole organization put in a lot of effort for me from the very beginning. I quickly felt better from interacting with those responsible. I will try my best and try to help the team as much as I can by working hard and honestly.”+
