Berlin (DPA/BB) –,In addition to five-time world champion Emma Heinz from Cottbus, her national team colleagues Lee Sophie Frederick (Cottbus) and Stefan Bauticher (Chemnitz) also debut in the second season of the UCI Track Champions League. The series announced this on Friday. Track cycling’s five-race premier class is coming to Germany for the first time in its second season and will make a guest appearance at the Berlin Velodrome on 19 November. Five-time world champion Frederick took second place. Hinge in the sprint class in the 2021 debut season. Bauticher finished second behind double Olympic champion Harry Lavresen of the Netherlands.

A total of twelve riders were initially invited, including sprint Olympic champion Kelsey Mitchell from Canada. The rest of the ground will be named after the Track World Championships in Saint Quentin-en-Yvelines (October 12-16) near Paris.

“The first season of the Champions League was great, the whole series was great, so it’s great to be back. I’m especially looking forward to racing in Berlin because I enjoy driving in front of my home crowd,” said Hinze, Who won three gold medals at the European Championships in Munich in August.

The season starts on 12 November in Palma de Mallorca. The five-day series ends with a double event at the Olympic Track in London on 2 and 3 December.
