Zelenskyj: Russia wants to wipe us off the face of the earth

Several cities in Ukraine have been the target of Russian rocket attacks. The president is clear to Selenskij: the attacks are primarily aimed at the population. Now the G7 countries want to meet the Ukrainian head of state for special consultations.
After a series of bombings in Ukraine’s capital Kyiv and other cities, President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia of annihilating his country. “They are trying to destroy us and wipe us off the earth,” Zelensky said via Telegram. Russia “kills our people who sleep at home in Zaporizhia. They kill those who go to work in Dnipro and Kyiv.”
Russia deliberately seeks to inflict the greatest possible harm among the people. Ukraine’s energy infrastructure has been targeted, Zelensky said. “The second goal is the people. At this time and these goals were specifically chosen to inflict as much damage as possible,” he accuses the Russian leadership. “They want panic and chaos, they want to destroy our energy system.”
Germany and France have called on Zelensky to “strongly react” to Russia’s recent attacks on Ukraine. He spoke to Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron. He also called for convening an emergency meeting of the G7 countries.
The same meeting of the heads of state and government of the Group of Seven Large Industrialized Countries (G7) was confirmed a little later. Special consultation is held with Zelensky. This will happen via video link tomorrow afternoon (2 pm), Stefan Hebstreit, the spokesman for the current German G7 presidency, Chancellor Olaf Scholz. The federal government condemns the heavy Russian rocket attacks “in the strongest terms”.
On Monday morning, Kyiv, the western Ukrainian city of Lviv and several other cities in Ukraine were rocked by rocket attacks. According to the Ukrainian military, Russia fired a total of 83 missiles at Ukraine. There were many deaths.
