It is now clear that Jon Moxley’s contract with AEW in The Independent is ending after an extension. In the press release on the contract extension, Tony Khan’s company had already stated that Moxley would from now on exclusively work for AEW and partner promotion (New Japan Pro Wrestling was explicitly mentioned here). Meanwhile, sources have confirmed to Fightful that Moxley will no longer be seen in Game Changer Wrestling. In fact, it is even said that AEW has been advising his talents against booking with GCW for several months, although Moxley really wanted to bring his race as GCW World Champion to a good end. End of Career Match between Mox and Nick Gage at GCW Fight Club – On the second day of last week Stokely Hathaway and W. Morrissey took Moxley’s story forward with MJF and apparently it was not the decision of GCW officials. GCW representatives said they had no control over the end of the match. It cannot be ruled out that Jon Moxley will continue to do some indie bookings in the future, but again as a surprise and not as a highlight of a related promotion already announced.
