Apple has completely revamped its range of tablet computers. “We are excited to introduce our most advanced line of iPads to date,” Apple CEO Tim Cook said on Twitter.
The iPhone Group announced a total of three new models in the tablet product line: two Pro models with the new M2 chip system and a completely redesigned entry-level iPad. It now also comes in the angular design of the previous Pro model and now has a USB-C connection.
Unlike previous iPad presentations, Apple didn’t hold any events on Tuesday, but only updated the website. The online store first went offline for two hours to add new offers.
Cook wrote on Twitter that the 10th generation iPad has now received an important update. And the M2 system enhances the performance of the iPad Pro to unleash user creativity and boost productivity.
The two iPad Pro models are hardly different from the previous models that were unveiled in April 2021. They are still available in variants with screen diagonals of 11 and 12.9 inches. The entry-level iPad will be available in four colors: blue, pink, yellow and silver. The A14 Bionic chip works inside, which is also used in the fourth generation iPad Air and was previously used in the iPhone 12. This makes the iPad five times faster than a comparable tablet with Google’s Android operating system.
Similar to the iPhone, buyers of an iPad in the euro area have to dig relatively deep in their pockets. iPad with WLAN is available from 579 euros. Apple offers models that also master LTE mobile communication from 779 euros. For buyers on a smaller budget, Apple continues to offer the previous model, the 9th generation iPad, available from 429 euros. With the iPad Pro, Apple has crossed the 1000 euro mark with prices starting at 1049 euros. The larger 12.9-inch model is available from 1449 euros.
