In November 2021, Irene Scheer announced the end of her career. A year later she was a guest on Florian Silberesen’s show for the last time.
“If it’s the most beautiful, you should go too. That’s how I envision it,” Irene Scheer said last year at the “Advent Festival of 100,000 Lights.” At the Florian Silberesen show, the 73-year-old made public the end of his career after more than 60 years in the limelight and 7,500 appearances.

After one year that time has come: The big farewell is coming. Irene Scheer is on stage for the first time in “Advent Festival”. But this time with Florian Silberesen as host, this would be the last show the musician could be seen in.
Dressed in a red velvet dress, she enters the stage and performs several of her best-known songs, including hits such as “Tonight I Have a Headache”, “Fear” or “Tennessee Waltz”. Later she talks to Florian Silberesen and talks to him about her career. “I’ve experienced a lot,” says the musician. But: “Everyone deserves to rest at some point.”
Then Erin Scheer addresses the audience and her fans directly. “I could talk to you all evening because it’s so beautiful,” says the 73-year-old. “The reason I’m singing is just for my lovely audience. And I’m going to miss you guys so much. You can’t imagine it. I’m really crying inside.”
Irene Scheer really wanted to say goodbye to “Die Schlagerchampions” in January 2023. But this show will probably get cancelled. Because instead, ARD shows “The Big Hit Farewell”. Everything there revolves around Jürgen Drewes, who will also turn his back on the stage.
