GDN – At the second World Cup of the new luge season, German athletes were waking up in Whistler (Canada). He took three victories in the Ice Channel and was the perfect answer to a winless weekend in Innsbruck, where the first World Cup took place.

Felix Loch was unbeatable in the men’s individual race in Canada. They brought back Wolfgang Kindel (Austria) and Dominic Fischneller (Italy) in their place. The second best German was David Nosler in 13th place. Mathis Ertel finished two places behind. Timon Grancagnolo gained three places in the second race and finished 17th.

The German pair produced their best performance in the doubles competition. Toni Eggert and Sasha Benneken won against Tobias Wendel and Tobias Arlt. Hannes Oerlamunder and Paul Gubitz finished fifth.

German women lugers achieved first class results across the board. Julia Taubitz, Merle Frabel, Dajana Eitberger and Anna Berreiter finished second to fifth, behind the winner Madeleine Eigl (Austria). Jessica Degenhardt and Cheyenne Rosenthal also tied for third in doubles.

In the team competition, the German athletes got their third victory. Julia Taubitz, Felix Loch and Toni Eggert and Sasha Benneken moved in their place in the line-up of Latvia and Austria.
