Would you like a little tongue twister? Before we venture into speech therapy boss Massachusetts, let’s bake small rolls and try Saskatchewan instead. Unlike the unrecognizable US state, the Canadian province can be replicated ten times in a row and in recent years has become the cradle of western and punk bluegrass – thanks to The Dead South.
Guitarist Nate Hilts, mandolinist Scott Pringle, whistling cellist Danny Kenyon, both join on harmony vocals, and virtuoso banjo player Colton Crawford interprets old bluegrass classics, writes his own songs and evolves on his two new EPs “Easy Listening for Jerks”, Pt. 1 + 2″ continues the style. And if you spit those fancy banjos with such Wild West coolness, you can say Massachusetts ten times in a row — if not backwards.
