The storm was a major success for the research project at Nürtingen Galgenburg.
The storm of the last few days has caused a lot of trouble and major damage in the area. But for weather researchers, who have since May set up their measuring stations in Nürtingen, among other places, they offered ideal research objects. The results may help to better predict such storms in the future.
Nortingen. Battered cars, fruit trees, roads and basements were flooded: the storms of the past few days, along with heavy rain and hail, did a lot of damage to the region. But weather researchers who are currently setting up their measuring stations along the Elb eaves are enthusiastic: They have collected so much measurement data in the past two weeks that it will probably take years to evaluate.
