The new Italian national airline is visually very different from its predecessor, Alitalia. Now the first aircraft has been painted in a new design.
On 10 December he flew from Rome to Ostrava. Since then, the Airbus A320 with the registration number EI-DTE has been parked and refurbished at the city airport in the east of the Czech Republic. ITA Airways has selected him as the first person to wear the new look.
On Thursday evening (23 December), the aircraft returned to its base in Rome, rerouted. The first pictures show one thing: Fresh Italian National Airline Appearance and brave. The hull has the familiar metallic blue from the jerseys of the Italian national football team. The ITA Airways logo is emblazoned on the front and the white engine logo. The Italian tricolor extends along the trailing edge of the tail unit of the Airbus A320.
an athlete rather than a poet
Airbus A320 with EI-DTE registration was already in use for Alitalia. He was named after the Renaissance poet Francesco Petrarca at the time. in the future it will be called Paolo Rossi – As a tribute to the football legend who died in 2020. ITA Airways has decided to name all planes after Italian athletes.
