On the Queen’s Country Estate in the English county of Norfolk, vacationers can stay in a very special place. The gardener’s former home can now be booked at the park as well as on Airbnb. Although the crowd is huge.
Sleeping too close to the queen – it is now possible. A cottage on the property of Queen Elizabeth II was advertised on Airbnb Sandringham Advertised, It is the former home of the Queen’s master gardener.
Country estates in the English county of Norfolk are privately owned by the British royal family. The charming cottage has four bedrooms, six beds and can accommodate eight people on two floors. The rooms are furnished with furniture and paintings, all of which come from the Royal Collection and were once housed in the royal residence.
Several photos on the stage show what the dwelling looks like. From the outside, the tiny house is enticing with its ivy-covered walls, the furnishings being relatively simple compared to the owners: cream-colored sofas, wooden furniture, a fireplace. The U-shaped fitted kitchen provides space for an entire squadron of butlers, but is not equipped with the latest amenities. However, they should offer a porcelain service for five o’clock tea. The wood-paneled bathtub beats even the everyday shower cubicle by now.
Up to three dogs allowed
A special attraction is the area, which boasts the gardens and parks of the Sandringham Estate. Pets are also allowed – a maximum of three dogs, but please keep them on a leash when walking in the “formal” garden. Partying and smoking are prohibited in the house.
If you want to fulfill your dream of vacationing with the Queen, you’ve got to be patient: There are still some visits available at the end of next year. The minimum length of stay is three nights, currently charged £1062, which equates to approximately €408 per night. However, the 96-year-old queen should not be expected to welcome guests in person, as is often the case with other Airbnbs.
