Canadian tennis men have reached the final of the ATP Cup in Sydney.
Canada beat defending champions Russia 2-1 in the semi-finals on Saturday and will take on Spain in the final on Sunday (7:30 a.m. CET). Spain also beat Poland 2-1 on Friday.
Even top Russian player Daniil Medvedev could not stop his team from failing in the US$10 million competition.
The world number two won the top man against Felix Auger-Aliassim after a strong performance with 6:4.6:0, but then Roman Safiulin had to beat Denis Shapovalov of Canada in 4:6.7:5.4:6. In the deciding doubles match, Auger-Aliasime and Shapovalov defeated Medvedev and Safiulin in 4:6,7:5,10:7.
