ATP Toronto: Daniil Medvedev apologizes to Alexander Bublik - and was punished for it

The referee referred to the “obstacle” as an obstacle for the opponent as Medvedev spoke during the rally. This is not allowed in tennis.

Medvedev did not understand the world then. He said to Bublik: “Can you imagine how stupid this call is?”

Bublik himself laughed at this strange situation. The Russian then told the referee: “This tennis will be shown on TV. Hey. (Bublik, Anm D. Redd.) Laughs at you too. What you did is amazing.”

Bublik himself had not yet seen the situation and asked the referee in surprise: “You mean I interrupted the talk?”

Medvedev won after the rain break

His answer was, “No, he (Medvedev, Anam. D. Red.) Rally disrupted!”

None of Medvedev’s enthusiasm helped, the point went to the Kazakhs.

In the end, however, the Russian won the match after a rain interruption with 4:6, 6:3, 6:4 at the start of the second set.
